With over twenty years of experience teaching art, it is still one of the things I enjoy most! I teach students from 3 years old to adults a wide range of media and subjects. See the list of classes, workshops, and events below. Please note the location as well as the schedule listed for each class/event.

Art 101: From the Beginning
Worcester Art Museum 
adult & teen class

Schedule: Thu, 2–5 pm, 5/8–6/12,

Description: What exactly is art? Come find out in this class designed for adults of all ages. Learn different ways to view and talk about art, and explore various media such as graphite, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic paint, clay sculpture, block printing, and felting. Materials included.

Discovering Bookbinding 
Springfield Museums | adult & teen class

Schedule: Tue, 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm, 7/15
 

Description: Learn several different ways to create your own blank book to use for drawing, writing, painting, collage, or more! Learn about the tools, materials, and techniques of this craft while making your own books using accordion, meander, and signature binding methods.

Workshop: Pigment to Paint

Description: Get back to the roots of painting (sometimes literally, using beets and carrots)! Learn to source pigments from natural and local materials and create hand-made watercolor paints—no special lab required! Materials provided.

Experimental Weaving Intensive
Worcester Art Museum

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 10 am–1 pm,
7/14–7/18

 

Description: Inspired by the special exhibition, From the Vault: Collecting Tapestries at WAM, this week-long intensive will explore weaving forms from throughout time. Create a mini tapestry using a traditional cartoon; explore bead weaving; and design, build, and weave on your own experimental loom. Materials included.

Dancing Dragons Workshop

Description: In connection with the special exhibition Here be Dragons, create your own poseable mythical beast! Draw your fur, scale or skin textures, add pizzazz with sequins and beads, then assemble your dragon or creature!

Beginning Bookbinding 
Springfield Museums | youth workshop

Schedule: Tue, 8/5, 9:30 am-12:30 pm
 

Description: Learn several different ways to create your own blank book to use for drawing, writing, painting, collage, or more! As you get to design your own covers and make your own book, learn about the tools, materials, and techniques of this craft! Make three new books, then finish up the class doing some drawing from observation in the galleries!

Paint Night: May Flowers
