Adult Classes

Art 101 Workshop: Draw

These one-time workshops are designed for anyone looking to try something new or get back into art but is not sure where to begin. In this workshop, explore working in graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, and pastel. Your instructor will lead you through a few exercises and a couple small projects – one realistic, one abstract!

Bookbinding Workshop

Learn several different ways to create your own blank book to use for drawing, writing, painting, collage, or more! Learn about the tools, materials, and techniques of this craft while making your own books using a variety of binding methods, including accordion, meander, and sewn signature.

Celtic Knot Illustration Workshop

A design element found around the world, knotwork is fascinating to view and meditative to create. Focusing on the knotwork of Celtic origin, learn to draw some basic knots step-by-step and then design your own with guidance from the instructor! A pencil and paper are all you need to get started, and you can add whatever media you want for color!

Art 101 Workshop: Embroider

This one-time workshop is for those curious about embroidery. Explore different stitches, leaving with a new skill. From helping to close rips in your favorite jeans to adding pizzazz to a bag or backpack, embroidery can be subtle or bold. Come learn a handful of basic stitches and learn about western embroidery and Sashiko embroidery! Feel free to bring an item to embroider on.

WORKSHOP: Pigment to Paint

Get back to the roots of painting (sometimes literally, using beets and carrots)! Learn to source pigments from natural and local materials and create hand-made watercolor paints; no special lab is required!

WORKSHOP: Illuminated Watercolor Shadowbox

Create unusual and exciting dimensional artwork using watercolor, collage, assemblage, and small light sources. Guided gallery visits, along with technique demonstrations and engaging short exercises will encourage you to plan and create an illuminated artwork all your own.

Family Fun Fiber Arts: Embroider 4-10 years

You can use embroidery to mend or embellish clothing, bags, and much, much more! Learn the basics of embroidery using a hoop and five different embroidery stitches. You can embroider your own design or use a provided design.

Magic and Monsters Workshops: Dragons
6-12 years

Dragons love to hoard gold and jewels! Design and build your own dragon-themed coin bank using a glass jar, polymer clay, paint, and mixed media.

Family Fun Fiber Arts: Needle Felting 4-10 years

In this fun workshop, learn the basics of needle felting! We will focus on making small decorative pieces using safe felting techniques and on creating designs such as planets, smiley faces, and cat faces.

Magic and Monsters Workshops: Good and Bad Faeiries
6-12 years
Workshop 13 - Ware, MA

Capture your own faeries in painting and mixed media. With inspiration from illustrator Brian Froud, design and paint your own faerie creations. The instructor will guide you in learning a few basics of color theory, color mixing, and acrylic painting techniques.

Family Fun Fiber Arts: Weaving 4-10 years
Workshop 13 - Ware, MA

Weaving is an ancient art practiced worldwide. In this workshop, learn about warps, wefts, and tapestry weaving! Have fun making your own small tapestry loom and learning to weave on it in colors of your choosing.

Magic and Monsters Workshops: Hydra
6-12 years

This fun workshop will have you making your own hydra puppet. Learn about the myth of the hydra, then use fabric, paint, and mixed media to make a three-headed hydra hand puppet with movable heads!
